FAQs

What is ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis)

ABA uses positive reinforcement to help children learn new skills, behaviors and coping mechanisms.

How many hours a week are required?

ABA therapy is more intensive than other therapies like OT, or Speech. ABA therapy is typically between 10 - 40 hours a week. At The Behavior Institute, we require families to commit to 75% of the hours determined through a Medical Needs Assessment. This is conducted during the intake process.

How long will my child require this therapy?

This is a tough question because there are a lot of things that need to be taken into consideration. Every three months the team will convene to talk about progress and additional information. Family collaboration meetings are held weekly and any questions can also be addressed during these meetings.
